Antarctica: Australia’s place in an evolving strategic landscape
Mr Jason Mundy
General Manager, Strategies Branch
Australian Antarctic Division
Mr Mundy will be introduced by Senator David Fawcett
Thursday 18 October 2012 at 5.45 for 6pm - 7.30
With its extensive science, policy and operational profile in Antarctica and interests in the Australian Antarctic Territory, comprising 42 per cent of the continent, Australia has long been a leading Antarctic nation. What are Australia’s Antarctic interests and how are we placed to advance them in an evolving strategic landscape?
Jason Mundy is the General Manager of the Australian Antarctic Division’s Strategies Branch, with responsibility for managing Australia’s Antarctic policy interests, communications and business practices. Jason has worked in a range of foreign policy-related roles with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (with postings to Thailand and the Philippines), International Division of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and as a Senior Adviser to Stephen Smith during his time as Foreign Minister.
